We have a variety of different programs whereby we provide low cost spay/neuters to the public. We have our Mobile Spay/Neuter Services Unit that travels throughout the county providing spay/neuter for the public's pets. We also have programs in conjunction with private veterinarians in the community where they will provide the low cost surgery for the client. We also have an in-house program that provides low cost or free to those with need.

Another program that works in conjunction with our low cost spay/neuter service is a program that will assist people on a one time basis with expense for a pet emergency. People need to meet certain income criteria to be eligible and the services must be emergency in nature and not related to disease or basic care.

THE PERSON RESPONSIBLE FOR PAYMENT HAS A RIGHT TO REFUSE TO PAY, CANCEL PAYMENT, OR BE REIMBURSED FOR PAYMENT FOR ANY OTHER SERVICE, EXAMINATION, OR TREATMENT THAT IS PERFORMED AS A RESULT OF AND WITHIN 72 HOURS OF RESPONDING TO THE ADVERTISEMENT FOR THE FREE, DISCOUNTED FEE, OR REDUCED FEE SERVICE, EXAMINATION, OR TREATMENT.

We at the Humane Society of Broward County are so commited to the cause of ending pet overpopulation, we dedicate many of out limited resources to provide affordable spay/neuter services to the people of our community. Last fiscal year 2007-2008 we spayed or neutered 8,690 dogs and cats, which is a number we should all be proud of.
